The Yoga Path presents…  An informative, relaxing Weekend Retreat:

   INTRODUCTION TO The Healthy Breast® Program, created by Sat Dharam Kaur ND

   This is a return engagement for presenter Livjot Kaur: HBE, HBYT, IKYT, OCT, Vice President of       the MammAlive Foundation, and Coordinator for the Healthy Breast Program Western Canada Region

Dates:  Fri. November 11th to Sun. November 13th, 2016

Times:  Fri. after 2 pm to Sun. 1 pm

Program participation

This event is open to women of all ages.  Yoga experience is not necessary, and the classes are self-pacing.  Modifications to the yoga activities can be presented for anyone experiencing reduced mobility.  If you are currently undergoing treatment for Breast Cancer or are in recovery from it or from any other health condition, please consult your personal Health Care Giver for advise/approval before registering.   Participate as much as you can, work at your own level, and rest when you need to throughout the weekend. 

About the Retreat program:

Be introduced to the 12 modules of the Healthy Breast Program Foundations, as a taster event, with short informative lectures, discussions,  accompanying Kundalini Yoga and Meditation for Breast Health, hands on activities, and inspiring live music on Saturday evening.  Find inspiration and empowerment from the program and your fellow weekend journeyers, to embrace lifestyle strategies for reduced risk, and for enhanced wellness /recovery, at this rustic, oceanside space, surrounded by nature.

You’ll be guided by LIVJOT KAUR, director and owner of The Yoga Path; Certified, licensed Healthy Breast Educator, Certified, licensed Healthy Breast Yoga Instructor; administrative member of the MammAlive Association of Educators and Advocates, executive member of the Foundation’s Board of Directors; and long time professional educator (Ontario Certified Teacher).  She has been teaching the Healthy Breast Programs through workshops and full series events in Ontario, and now brings this invaluable program, created by Sat Dharam Kaur, Ontario Naturopath of the Year, here to the island where she now lives.

This is an introductory overview of the program, not a Healthy Breast Program Educator training weekend.

The meal format: simple Vegetarian Pot luck meal on Friday evening at 5:30 p.m., and bring your own foods and non-alcoholic beverages for the remaining meals.  There is a fully equipped open space kitchen, several fridges, space for additional coolers if needed, and so on….

Event fee:

*event fee includes simple accommodation in private room, bedding and towels, shared bathrooms, all handouts and Make And Take activity materials for $195

** a few semi private sleeping spaces also possible (inquire about availability) $165 per person, provided there is someone to share that space, to make the plan workable

Retreat schedule:

This will be posted closer to the event date, but here’s what to expect over the weekend:

*arrive after 2 pm Friday

*Friday early evening welcome and pot luck, 5:30 pm

*Four 90-minute Kundalini Yoga classes (self-pacing), including one on Friday evening

*Four educational teaching blocks with activities and discussions woven in, to introduce the 12 modules,  including one on Friday evening

*a make-n-take self-care products session

*beach walk/meditation, weather permitting

*breakfast on your own schedule, 1-hour lunch and dinner breaks, as well as short snack breaks

*classes start at 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday

*Saturday evening Kundalini Kirtan (inspiring women’s music…possibly with a live musician, still seeking such a person)

*Sunday departure is 1 pm

Make your payment by bank E-transfer to Livjot@TheYogaPath.net and  forward your security answer for the transfer question to that e-mail address as well.  Alternately, you may mail a cheque, or money order, made out to Livjot Kaur, at the address above.  Fee is due upon registration, so that the minimum number of participants to cover this event can be confirmed.

What to bring?  After completing registration and payment, you will receive a suggested packing list, schedule, directions and anything else you may need, to be prepared and relaxed for the weekend :)

Cancellation Policy:

The retreat fee is generally non-refundable, as the expenses of the event budget must be covered overall.   Extenuating circumstances will be considered.   In the event that a cancellation can be accepted and a refund issued, a $25 administration fee will be retained by The Yoga Path.
